Greetings SWSC readers. Sorry for the recent lack of updates, but after Eli Roth’s GORETORIUM opened in Las Vegas and enjoyed its first Halloween season on the strip, I’ve taken a little time off from blog updates to tend to family matters and begin finding my next creative project.
I couldn’t let today’s news go by without congratulating makeup master Rick Baker who will be honored with his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced that a ceremony honoring Baker will unveil his star in front of The Guinness World Records Museum at 11:30am, November 30th, and director Barry Sonnenfeld will the be the guest speaker at the event.
Rick Baker’s amazing makeup and creature character work has growled, howled and thrilled movie audiences in films such as AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON, HARRY AND THE HENDERSONS, ED WOOD, MEN IN BLACK and THE WOLFMAN among many others over his four decade-long career (and counting). He now holds Academy Award records for most nominations (12) and most individual wins (7).
Rick Baker’s star will be unveiled on November 30th at 6764 Hollywood Boulevard — coincidentally (not) the same day that Sony Home Entertainment releases MEN IN BLACK 3 on Blu-ray and DVD. For more information on Baker’s induction ceremony, visit the Hollywood Walk of Fame website.
