2012 Was a Year of Horrifying Success for SWSC – Here’s to 2013

While a busy year for SWSC ends tonight, I look forward to a brand new year of creative challenges and opportunities in 2013.

Obviously ELI ROTH’S GORETORIUM dominated my work calendar in 2012 with concept work beginning almost exactly one year ago, and what an adventure it was. Eli Roth is a creative force to be reckoned with and his no-holds-barred approach to gut-wrenching horror was a blast to fulfill in the blood-soaked history of the fictional Delmont Hotel. The $10 million year-round haunt attraction opened with great fanfare and rave reviews on September 27th. The Goretorium just wrapped up its Very Scary Christmas seasonal update with Sick Nick delivering lots of body parts to fright fans, following their End of the World party night on the 21st and leading into the New Year’s Eve Vampire Masquerade Ball at the Baby Dolls Lounge overlooking the strip. But fear not, freaks, there are plenty more new scares in store for you all at the Goretorium in 2013!

SWSC wrapped up 2012 by co-writing a stage comedy show presented by the Alex Film Society and starring Daniel Roebuck (LOST, Rob Zombie’s HALLOWEEN, THE DEVIL’S REJECTS) for an October screening of Universal’s classic FRANKENSTEIN MEETS THE WOLF MAN. In a mock Presidential debate, Dracula and the Wolf Man campaigned and crowed about how they would best govern American in their own monstrous ways before a third party candidate crashed the event.

And I’ve gotten an early start contributing to the production of DR. SHOCKER’S VAULT OF HORROR, an exciting, electrifying new documentary project coming to DVD in the spring of 2013. Take a look at the website for more details on the classic monster tributes, horror films and collectibles featured in this documentary, and watch our blog for more news updates in the New Year.

I’ll sign off for 2012 by wishing all my friends, co-workers, creative partners and industry pros a very healthy, happy and prosperous 2013 ahead for us all. I can’t wait to start new projects and explore new opportunities with you next year. Let’s make 2013 one wild ride we’ll never forget!  Cheers.
